 About Beth

Hi! I’m Beth, and I’m a staff writer at Real Homes. With an eye for pretty things (think: quirky wall prints, scalloped edge furniture, and decadent-looking tableware) but a limited budget, I love nothing more than a bargain buy. I’m forever searching for items that will add style to my rather sterile, rented new build townhouse. I am forever searching for eye-catching and on-trend pieces of decor that will add personality without damaging the paintwork. When I’m not writing and researching trends and news pieces, you’ll usually find me camped out at my favorite coffee house with my Kindle, testing out new beauty products to blog about, restoring old furniture, or going on Instagrammable beach walks with my dog and fiancé.

My niche(s)

After working on a range of diverse shopping verticals and learning the ins and outs of successful ecommerce, trend, and SEO-led content, I now specialize in all of the latest home trends and product news. Whether it’s a TikTok-famous sun lamp or influencer-approved bamboo bedding, consider me your go-to gal for all of the latest trends.

Why listen to me?

I earned a degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Gloucestershire, followed by spending several years splitting my time between copywriting, digital marketing, and freelance writing, focusing primarily on SEO, trends, and ecommerce. I’ve had the pleasure of writing for a wide range of sites, including HuffPost UK, Glamour, IndyBest, The List, Metro, Fabulous, and The Express, specializing in homes, lifestyle, and beauty. Throughout my career, I’ve honed my ability to spot all of the latest trends, determine what actually makes a decent deal, and had the opportunity to review every home product you can think of, from coffee machines to air fryers to hot tubs — and pretty much everything in between.

About my Real Home...

Living in a very plain rented new build, I like to use pops of color and Art Deco-inspired decor to add personality and style. It’s a minimalist but cozy space that features lots of houseplants, plenty of mid-pink hues, and lots of copper accents.

My fave home buys

As someone with a real aversion to instant coffee, my espresso machine has to be at the top of the list. Followed closely by my Ninja 11-in-1 multi-cooker that does everything from air frying to sauteing. And, of course, my NEOM wellbeing pod that not only makes my house smell nice but also leaves me feeling relaxed and calm, even on the most stressful of days.

On my to-buy list

An Art Deco-esque drinks trolley to hold all of my favorite tipples is top of the list. A gelato maker, so that I can up my ice cream making game, is another buy that I’ve been pining for. And, thanks to sharing my home with some very messy (but seriously cute) pets, I’ve also got my eye on a carpet cleaner.

I am currently working on…

I’m currently writing and researching lots of trend pieces and news stories covering all-things home.
