Why not take a cue from the kids with fun beanbag chairs? Trust us, they're no longer reserved for young'uns. These cushy seats are the perfect addition for decking out any small space, especially since they're so versatile and easy to move around.

So while you're selecting gorgeous furniture to design the rest of your small space, you might want to consider kicking it old-school with your favorite playroom staple of yesteryear and add that to a nook in your space.

Ready to find the perfect chair for a nook? These selections are slightly more sophisticated than the ones you remember from grade school. We'll go out on a limb and say you're probably going to consider buying more than one. (Just a hunch!)

How to style your chair in a nook

When styling a nook, seating is the most important factor. If this is going to be your new spot for rest and relaxation, you'll need to be able to sit for some length of time — preferably with a cup of coffee close by — so the key is to keep it cozy. A beanbag chair will gladly do the honors.

“Soft furnishings are essential when creating your nook — embellishing the space with plenty of cozy and comfy accessories," says Leanne O’Malley of Studio. "Think thick throw blankets and fluffy cushions to keep you nice and toasty. For smaller nooks or budgets, a bean bag is a good, comfy compromise over an armchair."

Likewise, Jasmine Gurney, DIY interiors influencer and founder of Oh Abode, is all for soft touches, but recommends not to go overboard with the seating options.

"Bring in warmth with throws, cushions, rugs, and textiles, but don't go too big with the furniture," she recommends. "Anything minimalist would work really well to open up the space more."
